the unexpected race

The past few days have been pretty busy. mostly because of Alpine Days for track.
Alpine Days is where the coaches take the top three athletes in each event and take them to a huge track meet against all the schools in the district. ( in our case it was a total of 11 schools! ) i always look forward to this track meet because most of the time you are just hanging out with all your track buddies!! i love it!
well anyway this year i only qualified for long jump, which meant I got an entire day just to cheer on my amazing team!! so, it was nearing the end of the meet, and I was standing next to the track yelling words of encouragment, to not only my team but others as well, during the 2 mile. And behind me i hear my name called by one of my track coaches ( she just so happened to have been my basketball coach too. )
"Sarah!" Coach goodwin yelled. I turned, "Come here! " and I turned and walked up the bleachers to her, hearing my teammates making remarks on how i was in trouble. but i wasnt worried.
"what?" i said.
"Do you have your jersey?" she asked.
"No." (for i wasnt racing that day)
"Running shoes? Shorts?"
"No." i answered, get little more worried. she stood there thinking for a second.
"okay, i have shorts, Kenna give her your shoes. you're running the 4x4" she told me. i felt my jaw drop and i heard some teammates who had been listening in start to chuckle.
"what? why?" i just stared at her unbelievingly.
"Vikki had to leave early and she can't. hurry, it starts soon!! " a sudden rush of nerves hit me as i ran to the nasty bathroom to change. i had been sitting on a bleacher all day and hadnt warmed up or stretched. and now i was supposed to sprint a 400?? i quickly changed and luckily Kenna's shoes fit perfectly!
i tried to warm up as best as i could while we were waiting, but i just didnt feel ready.
First heat of 9th grade girls was over and the guy told us to line up...i was going second on our team.
the gun shot and Ashley ( the first girl on our team) sprinted off.
"Sarah, i want 120% from you. nothing less." CiCi said to me. (another teammate) i nodded though a little doubtful.
i watched ashely as she made her final 100m dash and got ready to run. she told me to go and i started jogging slowly, waiting for the baton to hit my hand.
as soon as it was in my hand I sprinted.

His Love

the last weekend was a bit of a downer for me. really sick.

 not able to go to the stake dance or hang out with friends. missed church. just not too happy.

and then in seminary today, our beloved teacher, bro. woodhouse taught us about the reserection and what this last week end was supposed to be about. and it got me thinking that i should have focused more on what Jesus Christ went through for us.

His Love

God sent His Son to take the punishment
For all the thoughtless, sinful things we do;
Jesus gave his life because He loves us;
His love is boundless, sweet, forever true.

On Easter morn He showed He is our Savior;
His resurrection proves He is our Lord.
That is why we tell you, "Happy Easter!"
He secured our heavenly reward!

and i am going to trying to be less selfish and think more of my savior.

today :)

track. what else to i need to say. most days its great.
 and others (today) not so much.

first of all i am sick (stuffy nose, sore throat, cough)
and today the coaches gave us the "you are not trying your best" lecture,
so we all had to run alot and run fast.

i feel really worked though, but i am not sure if thats good or bad.

on the good side though i  qualified for alpine days in long jump!!!

but after track was amazing!!

ahh!! it was the best!!
us girls walked the long way home so that we could walk up the hill with them!
and it made my day so much better! :)

double overtime.
first team to score wins.
the Freshman who starts Varsity.
put these things together
and you get the most amazing GOOOOAAAALLL!!!!
the entire team runs onto the field.
jumping, yelling, and hugging.
the coaches jump on top and tackle the freshman
and when you look closer you see a few guys laying on the turf in the middle of the excited mosh pit.
you run down to the field and give your high fives and cant stop smiling.
you walk over to the freshman and give him a huge hug!
and now you cant stop thinking about him.

there's that guy...

      there's that guy who you currently have a crush on. he is athletic, funny, attractive, and amzing to talk to! and he knows you like him and he likes you too!! when someone asks you who you like, he is the first that comes to mind.
     but then you start thinking....and then theres that one guy that every time he smiles you just cant help but to smile back, but he's the one that every other girl seems to have a crush on him also, so you get by on being his friend and flirting.
      and how about the guy that is the easiest to talk to, because nothing is awkward. and he is one that you know you can joke around with him and he wont take it personally. he's the one that you secretly like but probably wont ever admit it to him because one of your good friends full on likes him.
     and then you think of that other guy, the one who is more like your best friend. he knows your family and you know his and you hang out alot, and you have liked him for awhile and you still get butterflies when he talks to you. he's perfect. and your friends seem to think that you are going to marry this one.
       why do guys have to be so perfect?? no matter what i am waiting till i am 16 to date!! and everyone else should too!! :)

a lesson learned

yesterday, we had a track meet.

my friends and i were signed up to do the 100m sprint. but there was no 9th grade girls from the other school, and so we all decided that we would jog the 100m and cross the line at the same time.

and we did!  it was soo much fun!! everyone loved it! except for the coaches..... yeah we were yelled at, sworn at, and lectured.  and the rest of the track team didnt have practice today, except the 6 girls that disappointed the coaches (me and 5 others) . yeah we had our own little "punshiment work-out".

so the moral of the story is... DO YOUR BEST! NO MATTER WHAT!! even if you are not racing anyone, race yourself! and dont take it for granted. simple as that.

starting the day off with an early rise and plenty time to get ready,
first period. got 100% on a test!! :)
lunchtime. laughing with my best friends and flirting of course!
TRACK!! track is always good! well.... most of it!! :)
walking home and talking for hours with my wardies!
now, i am babysitting, not the best, but you gotta love your family!!
today was a good day.

excited to get started!! :)

cant wait to get this up and running!!! and i am having fun designing!!! :)
